Bonny Wainz is a phenomenal expert in the art of training dogs. Her expertise is seen whether she is competing, in the show ring, an obedience ring or out in an open field at an American Kennel Club or United Kennel Club Hunt Test. Her background and credentials truly speak for themselves. Bonny's true artistry with dogs is displayed when she is out training field dogs Everyone in the world of dog training knows that field trainers are the best. Why, because of two simple reasons.
  1. Anyone can control a dog when they are on the leash or right next to them. Often trainers can only maintain control when a dog is 15 to 25 feet away, but how about 50 yards away. These are just the basics for Bonny and her dogs.
  2. Trainers can often get verbal control over their dogs, but how about using just hand signals and once again I don't mean right next to the dog. Bonny on a daily bases works her dogs, 300 to 400 feet away with using no more than hand signals and a whistle.
Did you know that dogs are right or left pawed (handed) or that when a dog runs up or down a hill they tend not to run a straight line? These are just a few of the things that Bonny knows and has to consider when training and competing in field events.

Bonny's love and involvement with animals goes back to her childhood, starting with the families pet rabbits. As a child her family raised rabbits to sell. When she was 7 years old she took part in the care and feeding of all 62 rabbits. Bonny showed her ability to train animals at a very young age with her favorite rabbit named Thumper. She taught Thumper to stay using just hand signals, come to his name and to hop along next to her on a leash. She would often put on a circus show for the neighborhood kids with her pet rabbit and Frillback pigeon named Daniel who she taught to play ball. The neighbors would often comment how Bonny was such a natural at understanding animals and how she would grow up to be a fantastic animal trainer.

This was solidified when her father came home with a 6 month old black lab mix named Ryan. She very quickly trained this dog to do many acrobatic acts, such as climbing up ladders and walking across ladders, Ryan was her constant companion and was often seen doing a perfect sit stay next to the bike while she ran up to the houses delivering newspapers.

In her early twenties she became involved in the dog show world, showing dogs in conformation, obedience and field hunt tests. Because of her ability to make a dog work to its highest potential, people started asking her to show and train their dogs. She would campaign and competed with these dogs all across United States and Canada winning many first place ribbons. Bonny became further involved in the dog world by becoming an American Kennel Club judge.

Than one day Bonny met this famous Russian dog trainer. Upon observing him work she was instantly impressed by his unique, never seen before techniques and was amazed by his ability to communicate with dogs. Together, they combined their talents and expertise and created a most innovative European and American Dog Training Company, which they call Alternative Canine Training. Why Alternative? Because it is like nothing you have ever seen before.
